Tamale Libraries

Tamale Public Library – This is a government-funded library that serves the general public in Tamale. They have a collection of books, audio-visual materials, and digital resources that cater to various age groups and interests.

 University for Development Studies (UDS) Library – UDS has a well-equipped and modern library that supports the academic and research needs of its students, faculty, and staff. They have a massive collection of books, journals, online databases, and other scholarly resources in various fields of study.

Islamic University College Ghana (IUCG) Library – IUCG has a library that primarily caters to the academic and research needs of its students, faculty, and staff. However, they also welcome members of the public who are interested in accessing their collections and use their facilities.

British Council Library Tamale – The British Council has a library in Tamale that offers a vast collection of English language materials, including books, magazines, newspapers, and digital resources. They also run a range of events, activities, and training programs to promote literacy and learning in Tamale.

 There are several community-based libraries and reading centers in Tamale that are run by non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and other initiatives such as Street Library Ghana and the Tamale Community Library Project. These libraries aim to promote reading culture among youth and other members of the community who may not have access to traditional libraries.
